ISACA Day 2011

On the 9th of November, it’s the annual ISACA Day in Temasek Polytechnic. It started with an opening by the President and Secretary of ISACA Student Group, Teh Kaiwen and Javier Ang respectively. Then the Guest Speaker Mr Abdul Hamid Abdullah, a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) gave a talk about IT Audit. Not only is he a Certified Information Systems Auditor, he is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Internal Auditors (FIIA) Singapore. Now he is the Audit Director of Group 3 (Infrastructure) with public sector auditing with an experience of 30 years.

He shared with everyone who went for the talk about his experience in auditing as well as information security. He also shared his opinions about the SLA Fraud Case that happened recently. It was really a great and valuable experience for everyone who went there, not only students, teachers as well.
After the talk, it was the prize presentation for those who passed the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) exam. It was great to announce that many students from TP are Red Hat Certified System Administrator now.

Last but not least, it was the ISACA Membership and refreshments. Many students signed up for the ISACA Membership and stood a chance to win an iPod Nano and the lucky person was Low Y Zong, Year 2 from Cyber Digital Security. Congratulations to him!

We would like to thank the support given by ISACA Singapore Chapter, Temasek Polytechnic, industry members, lecturers, students and all the student helpers of the event that made this possible.
